„Święci” ratują remis, cały mecz Boruca

Southampton bardzo długo przegrywało z Sunderlandem, by w samej końcówce odrobić straty i dopisać na swoje konto ważny punkt. Po dwóch kolejkach Premier League Święci wciąż pozostają bez porażki.

Wynik tego spotkania otworzyli goście. Po dośrodkowaniu w pole karne, piłkę głową do bramki Artura Boruca skierował były zawodnik Juventusu, Emanuele Giaccherini. Gospodarze walczyli jednak do samego końca i w końcu dopięli swego. W 88. minucie do wyrównania – także strzałem głową – doprowadził Jose Fonte.

Swoje premierowe zwycięstwo po powrocie do najwyższej klasy rozgrywkowej odniosło Hull City. Popularne Tygrysy pokonały na własnym boisku Norwich 1:0, a gola na wagę trzech punktów strzelił Robert Brady, który w 22. minucie wykorzystał rzut karny. Hull od 27. minuty grało w osłabieniu po tym jak z boiska wyrzucony został Yannick Sagbo, ale ostatecznie dowiozło zwycięstwo do końca.

W pozostałych meczach, Stoke City pokonało na Britannia Stadium Crystal Palace 2:1, natomiast w starciach Evertonu z West Bromwich Albion i Newcastle z West Ham United bramek nie oglądaliśmy.
