Oficjalnie: Manchester City zmienia dyrektora sportowego

Manchester City ogłosił, że z końcem sezonu dojdzie u niego do zmiany na stanowisku dyrektora sportowego – Txikiego Begiristaina zastąpi Hugo Viana.

Begiristain pracuje w klubie od 2012 roku. Walnie przyczynił się do zbudowania jego potęgi poprzez sprowadzenie Pepa Guardioli i całej grupy gwiazd. Od dawna nosił się jednak z zamiarem przejścia na emeryturę i w końcu to zrobi, po zakończeniu bieżącego sezonu.

Do tego czasu będzie wprowadzał w rolę dyrektora sportowego Obywateli swojego następcę, Vianę, co ma na celu zagwarantowanie płynnego przekazania obowiązków. 41-letni Portugalczyk od 2018 roku piastuje to stanowisko w Sportingu. Był wymarzonym kandydatem City, którzy zatrudniając go, dopięli swego.

W angielskich mediach nie brakuje spekulacji, że w razie odejścia Guardioli (jego kontrakt wygasa z końcem rozgrywek) Viana będzie chciał ściągnąć na Etihad Stadium aktualnego szkoleniowca Sportingu, swojego przyjaciela Rubena Amorima. (MS)
