Stanowcze słowa Amorima. „Ten sezon był najgorszy od 40 lat”

Ruben Amorim w mocnych słowach podsumował obecną sytuację swojego zespołu. Dodał, że nawet zwycięstwo w Lidze Europy nie zmieni perspektywy końcowej oceny.

Trwający sezon jest dla Manchesteru United wyjątkowo nieudany w rozgrywkach Premier League. „Czerwone Diabły” zajmują obecnie dopiero 15. miejsce w tabeli. Gdyby nie wyraźna słabość trzech ostatnich drużyn, zespół z Old Trafford mógłby nawet obawiać się walki o utrzymanie — scenariusza, który jeszcze niedawno wydawał się całkowicie nierealny.

Ruben Amorim objął zespół z Manchesteru jeszcze w trakcie obecnych rozgrywek. Portugalczyk jest świadomy tego, że to jeden z najgorszych sezonów w historii klubu.

„Nadal czuję, że ten sezon był najgorszy od 40 lat” – powiedział Portugalczyk na konferencji prasowej przed półfinałowym rewanżem w LE.

„Możemy być najgorszą drużyną United w historii Premier League z trofeum Ligi Europy, ale to nic nie zmieni. Ten sezon był bardzo rozczarowujący. Nic tego nie zmieni”. – skwitował.

Jutro Manchester United zagra rewanż przeciwko Athletic Bilbao – pierwsze spotkanie zakończyło się pewną wygraną angielskiej drużyny aż 3:0.
