Słynny Szwed zawiesił buty na kołku

Długa i bogata w sukcesy kariera Fredrika Ljungberga dobiegła końca. 35-letni Szwed uznał, że jest już w wieku, w którym warto zawiesić buty na kołku.

Ljungberg jest najbardziej znany ze swoich występów w Arsenalu FC. W barwach Kanonierów Szwed grał w latach 1998-2007 i aż trzykrotnie razy udało mu się sięgnąć po mistrzostwo Anglii. Ljungberg był także członkiem popularnych „The Invincibles”, czyli zespołu, który w sezonie 2003-04 nie zaznał w rozgrywkach ligowych ani jednak porażki.

Po odejściu z Arsenalu, szwedzki pomocnik występował w West Ham United, Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire, Celticu FC i japońskim klubie Shimizu S-Pulse. Po tym jak wygasł jego kontrakt z tym zespołem pozostawał bez pracodawcy.

Ljungberg był także etatowym reprezentantem swojego kraju. W barwach Trzech Koron rozegrał 75 spotkań, w których strzelił 14 goli. Był uczestnikiem mistrzostw Świata i Europy.
