Liverpool zaoferował kontrakt swojej gwieździe. Nie spełnił jednak jej oczekiwań

Liverpool przedstawił ofertę przedłużenia kontraktu Virgilowi van Dijkowi, ale zaproponowane warunki nie zadowoliły Holendra.

Umowa wiążąca The Reds z ich kapitanem obowiązuje tylko do końca czerwca przyszłego roku. Od stycznia stoper będzie mógł negocjować warunki potencjalnej współpracy z klubami spoza Anglii, a nawet zawrzeć wstępne porozumienie w sprawie jej rozpoczęcia w wakacje, bez konieczności uiszczenia kwoty odstępnego na rzecz ekipy z Merseyside.

Klub z Anfield nie chce stracić 33-latka. Dziennikarze The Athletic poinformowali, że zaproponował mu przedłużenie kontraktu. Oferta nie została jednak przyjęta, gdyż nie spełniła oczekiwań zawodnika. Nie wiadomo, czy chodziło o długość umowy czy wynagrodzenie.

Negocjacje utknęły w martwym punkcie.

Van Dijk jest piłkarzem Liverpoolu od 2018 roku. Wystąpił w jego barwach niemal 300 razy. Zdobył wszystkie najważniejsze trofea, z Ligą Mistrzów i mistrzostwem Anglii na czele. Pozostaje żelaznym członkiem podstawowego składu. (MS)
