Jak święta, to wiadomo – Liverpool na czele

Trzeci rok z rzędu i po raz trzeci liderem Premier League w trakcie świąt Bożego Narodzenia będzie Liverpool FC. To pierwszy taki przypadek w historii najwyższej klasy rozgrywkowej w Anglii.

Co ciekawe, ten sam Liverpool osiągnął podobny wynik w sezonach 1978-80. Przed świętami w 1978 i 1979 The Reds, prowadzeni wtedy przed legendarnego Boba Paisleya również znajdowali się na czele tabeli i na końcu wszystkich rachunków sięgali po mistrzostwo kraju.


Podopiecznym Jurgena Kloppa taka sztuka udała się po raz trzeci z rzędu i jest to pierwszy przypadek w historii. Co ciekawe, w pierwszym roku Liverpool nie wygrał tytułu, przegrywając po pasjonującym finiszu z Manchesterem City, ale już w ubiegłym sezonie nie miał sobie równych w całej lidze.

Jak będzie tym razem? Po czternastu rozegranych meczach The Reds mają w dorobku 31 punktów i o cztery wyprzedzają Leicester City, a o pięć Manchester United i Everton.

W trakcie świątecznych zmagań Liverpool (27 grudnia) zmierzy się na własnym boisku z jednym z najsłabszych zespołów w stawce – West Bromwich Albion.
